Virtual Retreat 2022

Given the broad interest in our database as well as the growing volume of related work in this space, we are looking to connect with other investigators who are doing research combining machine learning and echocardiogram imagery.

We are planning a TMED virtual retreat

  • Date: Friday November 18th, 2022
  • Time: 11am - 1pm EST (UTC - 5) [convert to your local time zone]
  • To get the Zoom link / recording, please RSVP here: https://forms.gle/KydSmwjRPFReUzi27

At this meeting we will share some of our upcoming research plans, collaborative efforts, and plans for future data releases.

This meeting is open, please invite any colleagues interested in this space.

Preliminary agenda

  • 11:00 - 11:20 : Brief talks from TMED team (Mike Hughes, Ben Wessler)
  • 11:20 - 12:00 : Invited talks from external guests
  • 12:00 - 13:00 : Conversations about future of echo datasets

More details to come.

Long-term vision

The goal of the event is to try to kick-start more collaboration, especially data sharing. The key to making ML for Echo technologies matter is strong external validation of any predictive models, and we think the best way to do that is via community involvement.

In the long-term, perhaps we can get sustained interest in organizing future in-person satellite meetings adjacent to frequently-attended conferences, either clinical or computationally-focused.
